The nose has a distinctive red fruit character with a brambly, fresh cut wood quality. Lots of spicy cedar and cinnamon aromas. Fresh red and black fruits, like raspberries, blackberries and cherries dominate the mid-palate along with a dose of savory, earthy spice that leads to a firm and edgy finish. This is a medium to full bodied Grenache with a great backbone of acid and firm tannins that are partly due to whole cluster fermentation. The finish is lengthy and distinctly earthy and will benefit from moderate age or a bit of time in a decanter.
This wine has a beautiful dark, saturated ruby color. This version has an interesting blend thanks to what Mother Nature gave us in 2019. With even amounts of Grenache and Mourvèdre and just a touch of Syrah the spice in this wine is warm and earthy. The nose is filled with dark fruits, blackberries, blueberries and plums. There’s wonderful balking spices and hints of lavender as well. On the pallet the wine has an easy, medium body mouthfeel with soft, resolved tannins and good acidity keeping it all in check. You can enjoy this with a wide variety of foods thanks to its easy-going weight and fruity character.
